The Independents

In my imagined "New Outsiders" universe, Batman is sent home to the DC Universe, leaving the group of Hellboy, Madman, Tank Girl, and Monkeyman and O'Brien to fend for themselves...until another hero drops from the sky to help rally them to solve yet another crisis so that they can return to their own universes. Each character here is meant to represent someone from either the JLA or Avengers, so Ash is Superman/Captain America, Hellboy is Batman, Madman is Spider-Man/Green Lantern/The Flash, Tank Girl is Black Canary/Black Widow, Monkeyman is the Hulk, and Ann O'Brien is Wonder Woman.

I initially wanted Ash to be wearing his blue shirt from Army of Darkness, since I wanted it to be from that era (maybe in the never-produced sequel Ash found a wizard who helps him on his way home but gets sent to another universe). But in the AoD comics he's occasionally returned to this look with the chainsaw hand, and that older NECA figure is almost the same height as 7-foot Ann O'Brien so I had to concede...plus it is caught in a pretty static pose that would have taken forever to get right.

Title is in reference to the fact that each character has appeared in an independent comic at one point or another.
