A piece I'd done to celebrate Batman's 75th anniversary this month (April, 1939 being the cover date on Detective Comics #27) took many ridiculous cues from the 1966 series than actual comic sources.
I make no apologies for being in love with the Adam West show, and have actually gotten downright hostile whenever anyone tries to talk down to me about liking it over, say, other things related to the Batman universe. It's not a taste thing, and its probably not even a fan thing. I grew up around reruns of this show, so there's probably memories of it as being a source of happiness growing up (not that I had an unhappy childhood, I just remember a lot of good times centering around TV shows).
The collector's set from Mattel included a Batman, an exclusive Robin, and even a bit of wall for the famous wall-crawl that the duo would do from time to time. And there's even a cameo appearance if you look hard enough
